Vehicle Strip Down

The vehicle will be placed in a repair bay, the trimmer will collect the job card, flow sheet and will match the vehicle to the work to be carried out.

Whilst stripping the vehicle they will observe what parts are due for replacement, If additional damaged parts are seen an additional parts sheet will be compiled and presented to the parts department for sanctioning and ordering. If the insurers approval is required for these parts (normally any item of value in excess of five pounds), The additional parts sheet will be passed to the estimator who will contact the insurance company engineer for approval to fit.

The area of the vehicle in question and in most cases the surrounding area will be completely dismantled. doors, lamps, bumpers etc, will be removed, labelled and placed in our storage rack area which will be individually marked for each separate job. New parts ordered and received by our parts department will be placed in the same rack to await refitting after the repairs and painting procedures are carried out. The repair will be signed off at this stage noting any additional parts.
